Just wanted to let you all know that Friday is a themed NUT day. The theme for 2nd grade is sports. So please send your child in any sport related shirt/jersey/sweatshirt on Friday. I suggested to the kids that they wear a top with their favorite sports team logo/name, a team jersey from a sport they play, or any top that has images of sports equipment/names/etc. Keep in mind Lourdes has sports teams so even just wearing a spirit wear top would be aligned with the theme. Also, as a reward for meeting the Hunger Drive goal we get to have a game day on Friday. Because of the massive amount of cans that 2B collected, I got permission from Ms. Alongi to allow the kids to bring in electronic games. K-2nd grade are suppose to bring in board games (and they still can) but because of the special permission I received from Ms. Alongi, 2B can also bring in Nintendo DS's, tablets, IPods, Leap Frogs, etc. The rules for electronic game day are as follows: 1.) All electronic devices must be fully charged so your child does not need to worry about bringing a charger to school. 2.) I ask that as few accessories as possible be brought (more than one game, head phones, nonessential cables, etc.). 3.) Your child will have to keep their games in their backpacks until game time and immediately put them back when game time is over. 4.) You child is solely responsible for any lost/damaged games. 5.) Their electronic device must be hand-held. Please no laptops or gaming devices that need to be connected to a television. Please e-mail me with any questions or concerns about electronics day.
