Thanks for stopping by for your weekly 2B update! I just wanted to say how much I really enjoyed conferences this week. It's clear to me why these kids are so great, they have great parents! I had so much fun talking to all of you. 15 minutes is just not enough time to express just how amazing your kids are. I truly could not ask for a better group of kids. Thinking ahead of not getting to have them in class next year already makes me sad! I really enjoyed hearing your feedback. A lot of you asked for practice time tests and sight word lists so your child brought home both today in their candy binders. If you do not have easy access to a copier please let me know and I will continue to send home time test practice sheets. As it stands, 2B has brought the most cans for the Student Hunger Drive. While there is no prize for the homeroom who brings the most cans, I plan on having a celebration with the kids to acknowledge their contributions. This week we surprised our Sacrament buddies (8th grade) with flames that we colored and hung on their lockers. A flame is the symbol for the Holy Spirit. Because in 8th grade the students are confirmed, meaning they are sealed with the Holy Spirit, we decided it would be fun to decorate their hallways/lockers with flames. They loved sneaking down 8th grade hallway to hang the flames! Looking ahead to next week we will continue learning about nocturnal animals during themes, continue building on our basic facts, and discuss the different kinds of communities people can live in. On October 23, we will be going to the Wapsi Nature Center in Dixon, IA. Thanks again for stopping by and enjoy the beautiful fall weather this weekend!
